Reading the Data Compass Report: Key Metrics Beginners Should Track Daily

Three ways to use Shop Data Overview

  1. Compare today’s total revenue with yesterday’s to quickly detect discrepancies.
  2. Select any time range, view revenue and refunds, and identify periods of abnormal revenue decline.
  3. Calculate net sales (after deducting refunds) by cross-referencing revenue and refund data.

Product Ranking — Detecting “High Views, Low Sales” Products

Check top revenue products to see what customers like to buy; check top traffic products to see what customers are interested in. Compare these two rankings: products with high traffic but low revenue indicate a need to review pricing or description content—customers are viewing but not converting.

Three application scenarios based on operational goals

  • Shop operations: identify revenue growth sources, analyze self-selling revenue versus affiliate revenue, and track the response times of each customer service agent.
  • LIVE operations: track real-time transactions in LIVE, analyze the conversion rate of each product to find potential products (low exposure but high conversion).
  • Affiliate collaboration: track creator diligence, analyze revenue and commission to optimize collaboration strategies.

Risks to note

Viewing data once and never returning is the least effective way to use Data Compass—the real value lies in comparing trends over time (this week versus last week, one period versus another) to detect anomalies early, rather than looking at a static number at a single point in time.
