Setting up Seller Profile, bank account, and tax: essential items that cannot be missed
Bank account: correct name required to withdraw money
The bank account holder’s name must match the registered shop owner’s name. You can link up to 5 bank accounts, but only 1 account can be set as “primary” to prioritize receiving withdrawals — change actions include Delete or Set as primary. Note: changing your bank account can directly affect pending withdrawal transactions, so consider carefully before changing while having active orders.
Qualification Center & Brand: required for branded products
If you sell products bearing a brand name/logo (even if you are not the brand owner), you must submit proof of authorization across 3 levels:
| Role | Required documents |
|---|---|
| Brand owner | Brand registration certificate + Valid business registration license |
| Level 1 authorized distributor | Brand registration certificate + Authorization letter + Business registration license |
| Level 2 authorized distributor | Authorization letter + Level 2 distributor authorization certificate + Business registration license |
Documents must be valid and scanned in clear color. Companies doing business with multiple different brands must register documents for each brand — do not use the same set of documents.
Tax: directly affects the actual amount received
Update your tax code in the Tax section (from 1 July 2025, the tax code of individual sellers/household businesses is replaced by the 12-digit citizen ID). The address updated here will appear on monthly invoices under Finance > Invoice Center.
If the organization already has a tax code and is verified, the fees charged by TikTok will not include VAT/CIT (you self-declare and pay on behalf). If the tax code is not verified, the fees charged will already include tax — TikTok will self-report and pay on behalf. This difference directly affects the actual amount you receive each period, so verify your tax code early if your company is eligible.
Risks to note
New individual sellers often skip the tax verification step thinking “individuals do not need it”. In reality, individuals can still select “No, I have not registered a Tax Code in Vietnam” — but should still understand how platform fees are calculated to avoid surprises when reconciling actual received revenue with order revenue.
